TORQ Scooter range

Quick-fire Scooter Range
As was ever the case, when working at H. Grossman Ltd, Martin the MD would take a trip to Hong Kong to meet with existing suppliers, and investigate partnerships with new suppliers. This would mean that after his return to the UK, what would invariably follow is boxes and boxes of samples of potential new products we might run. And thus lots of product photography. On one such occasion Martin had found a bunch of scooters which could be added to our Torq Range, a range that catered for the more heavy duty scooters used by older kids that tended to have an edgier feel than the scooters for younger kids such as the Nebulus or Lightning Strike.

I began the photography of the samples we had, and started coming up with some good imagery for any boxes to follow – and then Martin said he needed the range completed within a week (!!!) as he had found a customer very interested in taking the range who wanted to place an order by a hard deadline for the upcoming season.

And thus began a harum-scarum week to get this job completed. What followed was more photography, Photoshop work to prepare the images for visualisation, development of model names for each scooter type, selection of typefaces for the new range, creation of a whole load of graphical elements and texrtures etc to flesh out the boxes, decal designs and of course the layout of all of the boxes for the scooters, lots of emails firing off to Emil Soelberg (the buyer) in Denmark and replies coming back with changes and so on. As it turned out, Emil was very impressed with my work, loved the range and placed a sizeable order.
